New lessons each semester! Drawing basics balancing classic arts education and fun. Basic does not mean boring! Students will build upon their understanding of geometric shapes to create more complex images while learning the use of line, form, space, and perspective to complete drawings that are, ultimately, all their own. This class offers weekly step-by-step single subject drawings designed to scaffold the elements of drawing while improving handwriting and fine motor skills. Parents of students who have taken this class one or more times have reported not only remarkable improvements in handwriting and fine motor skills but also persistence, patience, and confidence in their student. DRONES CLUB with Make 555 for 4th & 5th Grade MAKE 555 is excited to bring back Drones to MES for selected 4th & 5th grade students starting in October. Students will have the opportunity to design, build and learn to fly drones. Skills to be covered in this class are: • Learn to work effectively with a team in the design/build process as they build drones from different materials. • Learn to use a 3D printer to make parts for a drone. • Learn to fly drones for a mission. • Learn to adhere to the latest safety rules for flying drones. • Prepare for the Drones for the Good Competition in March. The 411 Brand Flag Football Academy is a structured yet fun environment that teaches the fundamentals of football to boys & girls GRADES 1-3 interested in the sport. Each week, students will learn how to practice and go through various drills to help them become a better flag football player. Calling all Master Builders! Bricks4Kidz Master Builders LEGO Club is back! Come join us in building jaw-dropping, awesome and head-spinning LEGO models while building important S.T.E.M. skills! In this advanced S.T.E.M. club, children will use our signature “Project 1 Kit” to build the most complex of our over 1,000 different proprietary motorized LEGO models from our over 200 unit-themes. Our "Master Builders" build from fun themes such as Star Wars and Minecraft, while developing important hands-on problem solving skills, critical thinking and creativity. ROBO-MES 1st, 2nd & 3rd GRADE ROBOTICS Spring 2025 We want to welcome all new students and returning ones. We can't wait to get started! Our signature STEAM program is available for MES students who want to tinker with LEGO based robots and become familiar with the programming that goes with the robots. Some kids will spend the semester building, some programming, some both. The curriculum is designed to reach all learning styles of students who want to have some fun while exploring the world of robotics. During the Winter/Spring session at MES, students will learn how to design, build, and program LEGO BOOST, WEDO and EV3 robots to compete on the Lil-Sumo board. In addition, we’ll introduce OLLIE/SPHERO robots as well as OZOBOTS and students will learn to program these to make them negotiate an obstacle course. Soccer Level 1, first hour, with 411 Brand Athletics is a structured program for boys and girls designed to teach the fundamentals of the sport as well as develop an interest in the game. Instructors will teach the core elements of the sport to kids in 1st – 2nd grades that will include, dribbling, trapping, passing, ball control and shooting. As with all sports, we believe soccer has the ability to teach various life lessons including teamwork, dealing with adversity and sportsmanship.
