JAS is excited to be the provider of extracurricular programs for Jackson Elementary- Grades K-5

Registration opens here in the parent portal this year for Fall, the second Saturday in August at 9AM and the second Saturday in December at 9AM for Winter-Spring semester.

JAS offers a variety of extracurricular options for your child each afternoon. JAS extracurricular programs also known as "JAS Extras" are offered to all currently enrolled Jackson Elementary students in grades K-5 for beginning Fall 2024; some classes are banded by grade. Students can enroll in just extracurricular classes or they can participate even if they are enrolled in the JAS aftercare program. All JAS Extras for 2024-25 will take place at the Jackson Primary campus school grounds. Grade 2-5 students are bussed to the primary campus by APS bus alongside our JAS aftercare students. 

Students transition to us at the end of the school day for all first hour extracurricular programs. If a child attends at 2nd hour extracurricular program, they must either be brought back to the school at the start of that class by a parent or caregiver, transition from a 1st hour extracurricular program, if enrolled, or transition from the JAS aftercare program, if enrolled. No student may be left on campus in the time after school has dismissed until the second hour extracurricular program begins. It is the responsibility of the parent to make sure that the child has care in the hour between school dismissal and the second hour class starting. This is an APS and JAS aftercare policy.

Each course offered has a fee set based on vendor rate and number of weeks in the session. Typically Fall semester classes begin the first full week after Labor Day and classes for the Winter-Spring semester begin the first full week AFTER the MLK holiday. We follow the APS calendar and all emergency dismissal class cancellations. After registering, parents can always confirm child schedules by logging into their parent portal account. 

Refunds will be made if requested at a rate of class fee minus $50 once the online registration has been completed up until the second class for that program has been completed. After that, no refunds will be made.

Parents requesting class changes will be charged a $10 class change fee for each class change made. Choose classes carefully.

Additional details of logistics, school dismissal notes, snack and other procedures will be emailed to parents and posted on our homepage in the Parent Welcome Letter the Friday before classes begin.
