Drones and Design

Students will delve into the world of material science as they learn the properties of flight and experiment with creating their own built-from-scratch drones. Students will be responsible for the upkeep and health of their trainer drone that they will use to practice obstacle flying, learn battery management and hone their piloting skills.    Drone safety is our number-one priority! Students will work on learning drone safety according to FAA and AMA (Academy of Model Aeronautics) guidelines. Students can work towards passing the Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST) that allows for the flying of drones over .5 lbs. Program-specific questions, email Robert at steampoweredkids@gmail.com.
